Megan Smith will discuss her new film and how it developed. Ms Smith holds an M.S. in biology and currently works as a documentary filmmaker and health journalist; in 2016, she founded WayMark Productions, LLC. Prior to that, she worked consecutive decades as a screenwriter, a Capitol Hill lobbyist, and a stage performer/recording artist. Smith was the first to report on the inaccuracy of Lyme disease testing for The Washington Post, and the government’s gross underreporting of this epidemic for The Rappahannock News. She wrote, produced and directed both of her feature documentaries: “A New Standard of Care: Alternative Cancer Therapies” and “bOObs: The War on Women’s Breasts” about breast cancer screening.

John Schwartz will discuss elder financial abuse in the United States. Mr. Schwartz is the founder and president of the Center for Combating Elder Financial Abuse. His center is focused on reducing elder financial abuse by providing innovative detection and prevention solutions. Before establishing the center, he served his country for over three decades in the Army and FBI.

Join Ralph Bates at the lovely wildlife preserve of Bruce and Susan Jones to enjoy and learn about the birds commonly found there. From 3 easily accessible viewing areas, we will spend 90 minutes spotting and hearing many of their Springtime and migrating avian species. Bring your binoculars. Join Commit to Be Fit for an Intro to Line Dancing Workshop. When done over time, line dancing has been shown to enhance static and dynamic balance and can maintain or improve cognition in older adults. This special workshop incorporates easy-to-follow, low-impact steps set to classic tunes. It’s so much fun you may forget you are working out! Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle.

The bus will leave Rapp at Home at 11:00 a.m., make a stop at the Sperryville Corner Store around 11:10 a.m., the final pickup will be at the Arbors in Culpeper. The bus will return to Rapp at Home at 4:00 p.m.
