About this event
Join Us on An Exotic Nature and Bird Walk, May 8 at Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge. This 2 hour walk will delight you in many ways: a fascinating history with unrivaled beauty around a large human created lake; 7 small islands; many water birds; and the Spring migration of several different bird species.
This will be a leisurely 1.7 mile walk around the lake on a well-mowed
wide path. We’ll stop frequently to observe while the guide comments. There are two small but short hills to walk up with easy descents along the path to the other side.
You may want to bring water and binoculars. We are likely to hear more bird species then we can see, so if you are interested in learning more, it’s recommended you bring your cell phone with the Merlin App on it. (Free download from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology).
We’ll gather at the lake at 8am and be on our way around 8:30 after some introductory remarks by your guide, Ralph Bates. Enrollment is limited to the first 12
folks who sign up.This is a popular event, please register now to join the group and get driving directions. It's only about 3 miles from Main Street Sperryville. (Rain date is Saturday May 9th at 11:00am).
