Do you want to learn or practice a new language, share your life story in a writing group, knit with like-minded folks, attend lectures on important topics, or attend a happy hour? These and other fun and informative activities are available to Rappahannock County older adults through Rapp at Home. Many of our community’s seniors seek a comfortable environment in which members of activity groups get to know each other and become friends.
Some of these groups are described below. All of these groups seek new participants and friendships. Call the Rapp at Home office (540-937-4663) if you'd like to try one of these groups. Or contact the group leader, also listed below.
Rappwriters
Writers of all levels of experience (including none) are invited to join with other lovers of the written word in small groups devoted to support, inspiration and helpful critique. Whatever your interest - prose, poetry, fiction/nonfiction - these groups aim to help you hone skills, stay focused, and enjoy the company of other scribes.
Currently, two groups of 4-6 individuals each meet twice monthly at the Dark Horse Irish Pub in Flint Hill. To learn more, and find out if either group has current openings for new members, please email Deb Moore at rappwriting@icloud.com. If there are no current openings, your name will be added to a waiting list for a 3rd group.
